Fun Fact: The Olympic Gold

The last Olympic gold medals that were made entirely out of gold were awarded in 1912.

Most gold medals are actually gold-plated with notable exceptions, made of solid gold, being the Lorentz Medal, the United States Congressional Gold Medal of Honor, and the Nobel Prize medal.
